As we mentioned earlier, Tom DeLay was knocked out of Dancing with the Stars last night with injuries to his feet. He’s not the first person to have to leave the show after getting hurt, and now it has all been turned into a horror movie. Warning: contains scenes of shoes in eyes.

New Doctor Who logo
Every once in a while, the British television show Doctor Who is revamped. This is usually done by replacing the lead actor and his supporting crew. However, it is also done by changing the logo of the series. As a result, certain logos are associated with certain eras. Yesterday, the BBC has revealed on their website the logo to be associated with the Matt Smith era of the show. They also have a video of the historical logos of the show.

I don’t have a particular favorite logo, although I liked both the “diamond” logo of the 70’s, most closely associated with Tom Baker’s era, and the “neon” logo of the 80’s, which spanned three Doctors (Tom Baker, Peter Davison and Colin Baker). The current one isn’t bad either with the cylinder thing with pointy ends (what is that shape called?).

A video preview of thenew logo is available on certain sites such as Topless Robot. What do you think of it? Which logo has been your favorite?

Simon CowellIf you’ve ever wanted to smell exactly like America’s most hated man (please get some kind of psychiatric help immediately), now’s your chance.

Simon Cowell
, the American Idol and X-Factor judge, will have his own brand of cologne along with the rest of the X-Factor judges, Louis Walsh, Dannii Minogue and Cheryl Cole.

A specific release date hasn’t been picked, although it’s said they will hit the stores by Christmas. It also looks as though they will only be released in the United Kingdom. And America wept.

Don Imus on the Fox Business ChanellJust as one broadcasting legend faces his slow downfall, this week also marked the triumphant return of another to the airwaves.

Don Imus, MSNBC’s former morning show man who was ousted from his TV and radio time slots for racially charged comments he made about the Rutgers’ women’s basketball team, returned to TV on Monday on the Fox Business Channel.

The morning shock jock wasted no time at his new home by getting back to his old tricks, lambasting everyone in the biz from David Letterman to his new co-worker Glenn Beck. And the move seems to be paying off since Fox Business scored their biggest ratings hit since … well, ever.

Do you think Imus should be back on the air?

Is Stephanie Birkitt still working for Letterman?
It’s become the new scandal of the week of the century that just won’t go away. Now TVTattle.com has discovered that Stephanie Birkitt, the “former” Late Show employee who had a fling with host David Letterman, is still getting credit in the show’s closing credits.

The image above lists Birkitt, the girl who also worked in front of the camera as Vicki the prize girl during the show’s “Know Your Current Events” bit, as Letterman’s assistant.

Talk about a scandal that literally just won’t go away. Of course, there are a number of explanations for this (it’s just an inside joke, it was a mistake, etc.) Keep watching the closing credits and see if her name still pops up under the “assistants” slot and be sure to let us know below if you see it.

Chibs gets blown up in
(S0205) – “When relationships become a ledger of profit and loss, you have no friends, no loved ones, just pluses and minuses. You are absolutely alone.” – John Teller

It’s almost the mid-season for Sons of Anarchy and that can only mean one thing: someone, nay anyone, can die. It’s precisely the reason I asked Katey Sagal in my last interview if she ever worried about her character being killed off. A show this violent and heavy always carries the air of collateral damage.

And episode five’s “Smite” proved it when Chibs, played by Tommy Flanagan, almost got caught dead center of a car bomb planted in the club’s garage by the local Aryans and may or may not have croaked in the ensuing explosion.

In the words of Jean Paul Sartre, “It’s on, gopher.”

Tom DeLay and Cheryl Burke
People Magazine has gotten the news that Tom DeLay will officially be dropping out of Dancing with the Stars tonight. His double stress fractures were finally too much to bear. I have sneaking suspicion that Tom got enough votes to survive into next week and was strongly advised to quit.

Quitting is the classiest thing for Tom DeLay to do at the moment. He probably wouldn’t survive another week and Cheryl would have to tip-toe around choreography next week. This also gives yet another a second chance for Debi Mazar and Michael Irvin to prove themselves.

I can’t wait until the fourth season of 30 Rock starts a week from Thursday. Here’s a sneak peek/behind the scenes look, with the cast talking about a new plot, guest stars, and what it’s like working on the set. I’m already laughing. (Note: it’s a bit spoilerish; not necessarily the plots but some great lines you’ll hear this season).

Nancy GraceDo you think we need another court show? What if I told you that this new court show was going to be hosted by Nancy Grace.

Yup, Grace is planning to star in her own daily syndicated court show next year. And it has actually gone past just a “talks” stage because Grace has reportedly filmed a presentation to show CBS Television Distribution. The name of the show (right now anyway, this could change) is Swift Justice with Nancy Grace. I guess The Biggest Loser was already taken.

travelers_insurance_umbrellaSo, I was doing an informal survey of television commercials last night and it seemed like every other commercial featured or included a dog! There was a begging dog in a Ragu ad, a giant poodle driving a car in a Bud Light spot, a dog fetching anytime minutes… lots and lots of pooches.

I admit that I’m a dog lover, so I’m probably more inclined to go for this type of ad. And it does accomplish its goal; I am aware that it’s a commercial for Travelers Insurance and I remember the red umbrella. I’m sure that it’s been true for years and years, but dogs do help sell products.
