Natalie Portman doesn’t stop on the red carpet and rushes into the the Broadway opening night of Hamlet at the Broadhurst Theatre on Tuesday (October 6) in New York City.

The 28-year-old actress came out to support Jude Law, her co-star in the 2004 drama romance Closer.

Also spotted in the audience: Barbara Walters, Gossip Girl’s Ed Westwick, True Blood star Rutina Wesley, former Frasier star David Hyde Pierce, former Alias star Victor Garber, and director Sam Mendes (Kate Winslet’s husband).

British comedian Matt Lucas‘ ex-husband, Kevin McGee, took his own life yesterday after leaving an ominous Facebook message: “Kevin McGee thinks death is better than life.”

After a concerned friend called the police about the message, his body was found hanging in his home in Scotland.

McGee was said to be very depressed after splitting from Lucas 10 months ago after being together 6 years, including getting married in December 2006. Additionally, his drug usage had “spiraled out of control.”

Matt Lucas is “utterly destroyed” by the news pulling out of both an awards ceremony and the West End show Prick Up Your Ears, in which he is the star. Little Britain co-star David Walliams is comforting his friend through this difficult time.

Apparently, McGee’s drug use was the reason for the demise of their relationship because Lucas couldn’t handle it anymore. Although he had attended rehab in the past, living in Lucas’ world of fame was difficult for the recovering addict resulting in their divorce because of his behavior.

McGee received roughly £1.8 million from their high-profile divorce, but was still in debt with many unpaid bills. Despite everything friends and neighbors said that McGee appeared to be doing well, hardly mentioning Lucas and even recently adopting a Labrador puppy.

Sad, sad.

Blake Lively dons some fun red leggings while snacking on some ice cream with co-star Chace Crawford in Central Park in Midtown Manhattan on Monday (October 5).

The twosome, who were seen hugging, shot new scenes for Gossip Girl. Looks like Blake got a little ice cream on her lip and Chace wiped it off with his finger. Cute!

Jon-Barrett Ingels was fired as a waiter thanks in large part to Jane Smith. The co-star of HBO’s Hung couldn’t pay her check, then failed to tip when she did. The waiter complained on Twitter; Smith complained to his boss.

Ingles, reports the Los Angeles Times, was then fired. But Adams can’t take all the blame: Ingels had to know it was coming. If you’re going to tweet about which musician didn’t wear a bra in your restaurant (Ali Harter), which Office star was hungover (BJ Novak) in your restaurant and which actress looked hot (Tori Spelling) in your restaurant, you probably aren’t long for that restaurant. Especially if it’s located in Beverly Hills.

Ed Westwick grabs brunch with his girlfriend, Gossip Girl co-star Jessica Szohr, at Bubby’s Restaurant Bar-Bakery in the Tribeca neighborhood of New York City on Sunday afteroon (October 4).

It was incorrectly reported on the Internets that Ed introduced Jessica to his parents when they in town visiting him in NYC last week. They met as early as April, if not earlier!

Nevertheless, the two couples lunched at Tortilla Flats in the West Village.

As we previously mentioned, Harry Potter co-star Rupert Grint has been busy starring in independent films during his off time.

And while filming his role in Cherrybomb, Grint had the opportunity to shoot some shirtless action – and a sex scene as well!

The flick centers around friends Luke, Malachy and a mysterious girl who moves into town. “As she seductively encourages a ruthless competition for her heart, Michelle tests the limits of Luke and Malachy friendship, and how far each of them is willing to go to win her over.”

The movie is laced with “drinking, drugs and sex – with potentially fatal consequences.”

And although it premiered in February of this year at the Berlin Film Festival, the movie still hasn’t made it to the big screen.

Jessica Szohr takes a big bite out of her Gossip Girl co-star Chace Crawford’s apple at a Stoli party held at Juliet Supper Club in the Chelsea neighborhood of New York City on Wednesday (September 30).

Chace and Jessica, both 24, celebrated Stoli’s latest flavored vodka, Stoli Gala Applik (the tenth Stoli flavored vodka).

Stop the presses! Emmy winner Eric Braeden has been written out as the iconic Victor Newman on Y&R. The actor has already taped his last scenes. Reportedly, Victor and Nikki go on vacation.

For the past few weeks, Braeden has been involved in intense negotiations. While his contract is up at the end of 2010, Y&R has been asking actors to take pay cuts when their 13-week cycles expire.

As previously reported, Y&R is currently transitioning Adam Newman to inherit his father’s complex history. Additionally, the sudser has announced it’s casting a new millionaire bad guy named Tucker with a big name to cover their bases. “The casting call is not a scare tactic,” says an executive. “Tucker is a real role.”

During Braeden’s last tape date, the actor gave a speech to the cast saying he may not come back and thanked the cast and crew for decades of memories.. “He said he wasn’t sure if he’d ever be back, and thanked everyone for their hard work,” says one co-star. “He got emotional towards the end. After his speech, there was dead silence. We were all stunned,” says another witness.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the movie centers on “a lonely woman (Diaz) whose seemingly harmless blind date suddenly turns her life upside-down when a superspy (Cruise) takes her on a violent worldwide journey to protect a powerful battery that holds the key to an infinite power source.”
